Hi guys! Welcome to the Waffle Flower July release blog hop! The July release is always such fun because it’s the month we start releasing Christmas goodies (my favorite)! I’m also super excited because we’re debuting a new tool that I absolutely love, the WFC Grip Mats! More about that in a bit!
Let’s start off with a card using the new dies, Be a Dog and Be Christmas Accessories! With Be a Dog, we have a new addition to the “Be A” series by Big Bear and Bird. The series includes a cat, reindeer, panda, and unicorn. All of the “Be A” series dies coordinate with the new Be Christmas Accessories set which includes a bunch of holiday-related add-ons. As you can see, I accessorized my little doggie with a santa suit and hat, but there are lots of other accessories with a holiday/winter theme.
The sentiment is from the new Critter Christmas stamp set that perfectly works with any of the critters in the “Be A” series. For the background, I used the Dashed Rhombus Panel die and Nesting Postages dies.
My second card uses the Be Christmas Accessories set again, but this time with the previously-released Be a Reindeer die. (BTW, all the “Be A” series dies are restocked!) With my reindeer, I went with just winter-themed accessories with a sweater and scarf. Large die cuts like this are great for creating easel cards,
To hold open my easel card, I added a sentiment label on the inside using the new Inside Sentiments – Christmas set. There are lots of different sentiments in this set so you can customize your card especially for that special recipient.
This month, the die set, stencil, and stamps from the Star Snowflake Kit are available separately! The Star Snowflake die set features a large star “snowflake” and lots of add-on dies. With the stencil, you can create a ton of different looks with this set. The coordinating stamps have a lovely elegant font that are perfect for stamping and embossing. BTW, there are lots of other past Christmas goodies that have been restocked for this release if there’s something you’ve had your eye on that was out of stock!
Last but certainly not least, this month we have the WFC Grip Mats. These mats are made of photopolymer (same high quality stuff that our stamps are made of) and the natural tackiness of the material is perfect as a grip mat for paper, die cuts, stencils, and more. I’ve been testing my mats for awhile now, and I’m in love! They hold well, are easy to clean, and keep their stickiness over time. I also love that WFC has created them in a huge variety of sizes so they can be used in a myriad of ways. Below is a look at the variety of mats available now. I’ve labeled them to give you some idea of compatibility.
My two favorite uses are in my Misti platforms (there’s one for the original size and mini) and just on my glass mat on my work table. In my Original Misti I use the 6.5″ X 8.5″ size grip mat which fits the entire platform. In my Mini Misti, I use the 4.75″ X 6″ size grip mat. I keep my mats in my Mistis permanently, but you can use the carrier sheets that come with the grip mats to easily move the mat around. I also have the largest 8.5″ X 8.5″ size grip mat attached permanently to the glass mat that lives on my work table. I keep the carrier sheet over it when I’m not using it. I use this to hold die cuts or panels when I’m stenciling or just ink blending. One of the other tools out this month is the Stencil Extender. This tool works as a frame around your stencil, so you don’t accidentally blend over the edges. I love that all these products mean I’m being less wasteful and not using tapes, masks, post-its, etc. If you have any questions about the mats, let me know in the comments!
That’s it for me today, but there’s lots more to see in the blog hop! Next on the hop is the fantastic Caly Person!
