Hello! Welcome back for day 2 of the Papertrey Ink April Release Countdown! Today we’re highlighting Scene Everywhere: At the Lake stamp set and dies, Corrugated Metals Background stamps, Captivating Cattails stamps and dies, and Vase Collection 9 stamp and dies.
May’s a big month in my house with my husband and my boys all celebrating their special day this month! And we’ve also got Father’s Day in June for us in the US. So you’ll see why I’m extra excited about the Papertrey Ink release this month!
My first card uses the Scene Everywhere: At the Lake stamp set and dies and the Corrugated Metals Background stamps. Both of these sets are great for masculine cards. With this card, I used a ton of different inks to achieve a rustic look with lots of gradients and depth. I did this by dabbing different color inks onto the stamps with a small makeup sponge and then stamping. Can you see all the texture? I used the same technique to create the gradient on the sun and the sunset reflection on the water.
For the background, I used the Corrugated Metals Background stamps which give a beautiful organic look. I used a combination of gray, brown, and blue inks on the stamps to get that look of oxidized metal. I misted it with some white mist and brown mist as the finishing touch. The borrowed the beautiful sentiment from the Captivating Cattails set.
This next card has the same organic feel and it could not have been easier to make! I love that the Captivating Cattails stamp set has cattails in a variety sizes. This makes it super easy to create a custom scene like this. The cattail stamps come in multiple steps, so that you can make them a silhouette (like I did) or make them in multiple colors. The background was just a simple masked background blended with lots and lots of inks.
