Welcome to the first day of the Papertrey Ink February Release Countdown! With the release, Spring has definitely sprung and I can’t wait to share all the cards I’ve been working on with the new goodies. Today we’re introducing a variety of stamps and dies including Weave a Basket, Grassy Edge, Spring Greetings, Vase Collection 7, Thank You Florals, and Delicate Circles!
My card today uses the new Weave a Basket dies, Grassy Edge die, and Spring Sentiments stamps. The star of this card is definitely the new Weave a Basket die cut! The 3D design has one large die cut and strips that you weave together for a for an actual weaved look. It is surprisingly easy to put together and the final look is so cool!
I wanted a subdued palette so I added some eggs to my basket that were colorful but natural. For the basket, I wanted to really play up the texture. I die cut the basket in Fine Linen cardstock and then blended white ink over basket. Love how it looks like whitewashed wicker! The final touches are the grassy border along the bottom and the sentiment from the Spring Greetings set. For the background, I used the previously-released Tin Stitch Die.
