Welcome to day 2 of the Papertrey Ink February Release Countdown! Today, new stamps and dies Spring Carrots, Picket Fence, Egg-stravagance, and Just Sentiments: Spring Blessings are being highlighted. So many fun Spring-themed goodies this month!
My first card uses the Picket Fence and Spring Carrot dies in a little garden scene. I love the larger scale picket fence and I can see using that die in many different ways. The sentiment is from the new Inside Greetings: Spring Blessings which I put on some stacked labels like a garden sign. (The garden sign was made with previously released It’s A Sign: Hanging Frames Die and It’s A Sign: Hanging Frames Stitched Layers Die.)
For the carrots, I blended the ink and then followed up with a Copic marker with lines to make them more natural looking. I also used a Copic marker on the picket fence to add shadowing. I like this technique because white die cuts usually look so flat.
This next card uses the same Spring Carrots dies but in a basket! The Weave a Basket die is such a fun die and I’m sure you’ll find lots of ways to fill it. My fillers are die cut carrots colored with blended ink. As a little extra detail, I added glitter paper as the backing for the carrots and for the carrot tops. That little extra sparkle really lifts the look for me!
The sentiment is from the new Just Sentiments: Spring Blessings and was heat embossed on vellum. The vellum strip is attached to the frame (cut with the Border Bling: Skinny Dotted Frame Die).
That’s it for me today! Stop by the Papertrey Ink blog for more cards from the design team and check back tomorrow for more from the February release!
Aloha, jj
