Hi everyone! I’m a little late to the Papertrey Ink release this month, but I’m so happy to be able to share my cards from the release! I’ve been out of town and came back the worst kind of souvenir, a cold 😩. But I’m feeling lots better and getting back into the groove.
One of my favorite sets this month is the new Into the Blooms: Poppies set! Poppies are one of favorite flowers with their huge blooms and wavy petals. I really wanted the poppies to shine, so I used a classic black/white background. The large label die cut is from the new Love to Layer: Alluring Brackets set. Love the little pinpoint detail on those dies.
I ink blended each die cut of the poppies and then added just a little bit of shine with a glitter pen. I finished off the card with a subtle tone-on-tone black frame (Skinny Diagonals Frame) and some rainstones. The sentiment is from the Garden Blessings stamp set which goes so well with so many images.
This next card uses the new Balloon Bouquet die set! This set makes it super easy to create a multi-layer balloon bouquet with different colors or papers. It even comes with little balloon “filler” dies. I used a variety of patterned papers (Big Bitty series in aqua mist, berry sorbet, and harvest gold) along with some glitter paper. I used a mini slimline card base to really show off the height of the balloons. The sentiment is from the Birthday Your Way set.
This next card features the fun new Paw Prints set! Love, love, love that you can mix and match the stamps to create a totally unique, custom pup! I used the set with the new Cover Plate: Jumbo Dots die. The sentiment is also included in the Paw Prints set along little accent stamps like the heart that I used here. For the background, I used the Ripped Banners die for my sentiment.
Last but not least, I have a card using the latest in the Psalm Reflections series. This month, the Psalm Reflections: July set includes a gorgeous stamp and an elegant label die. I started this card by creating 2 of the “same” background panels. I used one of the stencils from the June Surprise Box to create a vine and grass background. I made 2 panels because I cut one of them using the new label die, and then I layered that over the other background. This technique is super subtle, but I really do love that little extra detail.
I added a bit of splattering and misting in white and a slightly darker green, and as a final touch added small flowers and leaves from the Sweet Baby Bib die set (really adore those little layered flowers).
Thanks for letting me share this wonderful release with you! I hope you go check out the release for yourself! The whole release is live on the Papertrey Ink site now!
Aloha, jj
