Hi everyone! Hope you’re having a wonderful weekend and have a bit a time to take a peek at the Papertrey Ink June Release! Today is countdown day 1 and I’ve got a couple of cards to share with the new Graceful Butterflies, Vintage Postage, and Penciled Outlines!
Let’s start off with this card that uses stamps from all three of the new sets! I have a weakness for postage-related stamps and dies. I love the look of vintage letters with unusual postage stamps cancellation marks (my favorite part). With this card, I wanted to recreate that look. I used the die from the Border Bling: Postage Frames Die to create a faux postage stamp with one of the butterflies from the Graceful Butterflies set.
The rest of the card was super easy using sentiments and images from the Vintage Postage set. That beautiful broken circle stamp is from the Penciled Outlines set. That set is so versatile and I can see so many ways to use those stamps and dies!
This next card uses the Vintage Postage set in a more modern way. I used the 2 postage stamp frames to create a rainbow collage. It’s a little hard to tell in the photo but there are two layers to this card. Each flower panel is die cut and popped up with foam. To achieve this look, I stamped the background twice (using my Misti). That way, my die cuts with the flowers have the same collage background. It’s an old technique but still a great one for giving your cards that extra special detail.
To finish the card, I added a number of the small detail stamps from the Vintage Postage set.
To see more of the countdown, head on over to the PTI Blog for more peeks! I’ll be back tomorrow for the Countdown Day 2 and more from the upcoming release!
Aloha, jj
