Hey everyone! It’s Papertrey Ink April release Countdown Day 2! Just like yesterday, I’ve got a pair of cards with totally different styles! Hope you see something you love!
This first card uses the next installment of the Vase Collection series. Vase Collection 17 features a wonderful ornate pedestal planter and a spray of spilling blooms. This stamp makes me wish I had the real thing on my porch!
In the background, I used the new Love to Layer: Delightful Brackets set. This set comes with 3 dies and I used the largest and smallest in the set. To get a new look from the largest label die, I cut it down the middle and used each half along the edge of the card front. This is a fun way to get more looks from your dies. I used the smallest label die for my sentiment and tucked it under the other die cuts. The card front is covered with a die cut using the previously-released Cover Plate: Quilted Die. I used a generous amount of Bright Buttercup ink blended over the entire card and added some white spray mist and clear rhinestones. The blended ink really brings out the dotty detail of the dies.
My second card today uses the new My Dad die set and new Just for Dad stamps. This one was super easy to make! I used the small detail stamps in the Just for Dad set and created a custom background. I used the negative die cut of the My Dad word die and backed it with the plaid pattern die cut (also in the same set). When using negative die cuts, I always use some foam tape between my layers to get that look of depth.
