Welcome to the Waffle Flower March 2023 Release Blog Hop! I’m excited to share the release this month because it definitely ticks off a couple of themes on my “most wanted” lists! This month, dog lovers and masculine card makers are going to be so happy!

My first card uses the new Best Friend Die set and Paw Print Texture Die! The Best Friend Die set has a collection of 13 dog silhouette dies for a variety of dog breeds (Laborador, Retriever, Dachshund, Chihuahua, Boston Terrier, Corgi, Poodle, Greyhound/Vizsla/Whippet, Pomeranian/Papillon) and in different sizes (puppies). I really enjoy making customized cards, so the variety in this set is just perfect. In the background is the Paw Print Texture die. Our new texture dies cut out a pattern but do not have a cut edge. That means that they also work for adding texture to parts of a panel, envelopes, and more! The Paw Print Texture die also has a coordinating coloring stencil available separately. I chose the adorable Golden Retriever die from the set for this card and cut out a heart in the background to spotlight the die cut. In the back, I used Distress Oxide sprays to get a minimal rainbow look. The sentiment is a preprinted/precut sentiment from the Subsentiments Hello Sheet which serves as a sentiment and also grounds the focal die cut.

My next card uses the new Forest Window Die, Best Friend Stamp set, and the Pawfect Sentiments Stamp set. The Forest Window Die cuts out a window with a modern forest scene, but it does not have a outline cut edge so you can use it with any panel that you like. I used it with the dotted panel from the Designer Template 2 Die set, and I can see myself using it for a variety of other stamps and dies. In the background, I blended a rainbow cloud scene before I stamped two images from the Best Friend Stamp set. This stamp set has the same dog images as the Best Friend Die set but also includes some dog mom and dog dad stamps and a few more doggie images.

Like I mentioned at the beginning this month we have some fun sets to create masculine cards. We get a lot of requests for masculine themed stamps and dies and this month has a bunch to choose from. My card below uses the new Toolbox Die with the #1 Dad Sentiments Stamp set. I got very grungy with this one with lots of blended and splattered inks, and I loved every minute of it! Don’t get me wrong, I love CAS cards, but there’s something about splattering paint and adding some vintage touches that is so much fun! I created a fake pegboard for my tools with the previously-released Stitchable Pinking Rectangle die. I put it in a frame and it was the perfect pegboard! Then I added my tools and toolbox that I die cut using navy blue, kraft, and metallic silver cardstock.
