Hi everyone! Welcome to the Waffle Flower September 2022 Release Blog Hop! Today I’m hopping with the Waffle Flower crew and some amazing guest designers to show you the new release that dropped today!
The first card I have to show today uses the new hot foil and stencil combo, Elongated Hexagons! For this first card, I hot foiled the Elongated Hexagons in gold and stenciled over it with one stencil in a gradient rainbow. I love that the stencils can be placed in a variety of ways to get lots of different looks. Sorry for the wonky pics today! Trying to capture that shine is tricky 😉!
For the sentiment, I used the new Oversized Merry Christmas Hot Foil plate and the Subsentiments Christmas Foil plate. The Oversized Merry Christmas design is also available as a die which comes with a shadow die that works with both the die and hot foil versions. The Subsentiments Christmas Foil Plate is a single plate that can be cut with the previously released Subsentiments Die. So great for making holiday cards in bulk!
This next card uses the new Eucalyptus Panel Die and new Love Thanks Sentiments stamp and dies. The eucalyptus design works all year long and coordinates with lots of themes like flowers and in this case, butterflies! The versatile design is open in the middle which leaves you a perfect place for a sentiment and other elements. For more depth, I stacked two panels together. The Love Thanks set is designed to work with the panel, but I’m sure this one will become a staple in your stash. The mix of fonts is so much fun! The Flourish Butterflies dies are from a previous release, but work so well with the panel.
This month, we’re also celebrating New Year with some fun new HNY designs! When I make holiday cards, I usually make a bunch of new year cards too. New year sentiments re hard to find! Who knew? This card uses the Year 2023 die that includes the number and shadow dies. I love, love, love the large scale and font of the numbers! In this card, I die cut the number in white cardstock and used a glitter cardstock for the shadow.
The background uses the Elongated Hexagons hot foil die again for a more elegant look. I have been having so much fun hot foiling, and I love experimenting with this new technique. Did you know that you can hot foil on foil cardstock? Talk about shine! I hot foiled the design with holographic foil onto a hot pink metallic foil cardstock (from Michael’s if you’re wondering). I used the same holographic foil for the subsentiment that is from the Subsentiments Christmas Foil plate. To make the die cuts stand out, I added a diamond die cut in vellum.
Let’s finish off the day with Christmas card (my favorites!). This card uses the Oversized Merry Christmas Hot Foil plate in a fun pink foil! The sentiment fits perfectly on one of the Nesting Landscape Arches dies. I added a few poinsettias die cut in glitter paper (using the Layered Poinsettia dies and Mistletoe Branch dies) and blended with ink.
