Happy Fall everyone! I’m here today with the Waffle Flower September 2023 Release and we’ve got so many fun goodies this month! The theme this month is “O Christmas Tree” and I have a pair of Christmas cards to share today.
This first card uses the new Beaded Wreath set. This set is inspired by those cute wooden bead wreaths you see in home decor. I love the clean, simple, and modern look of these wreaths, and I only wish I had this wreath in real life!
For this card, I started off by die cutting the beaded wreath with woodgrain paper for a more textured look. Then I die cut all the sprigs, berries, and flowers. I ink blended each one and arranged them around the wreath. Next time, I think I’m going to arrange the greenery around the left side of wreath for a different look. For my background, I used the previously-released Dashed Rhombus panel die and layered it on red cardstock. For the sentiment, I used the new Holiday Cheer stamp set. Just a tip for using textured backgrounds and stamped sentiments. I die cut a piece of smooth cardstock using the beaded wreath die and inset it into the wreath. This gave me a clean place to stamp my sentiment. I’m looking forward to using this set again with other color combos!
This next card is totally appropriate for this month’s “O Christmas Tree” theme and uses the new Christmas Tree Shaker dies and Christmas Tree Slim Shaker Covers. I love a good shaker card (still), but I tried something a little different with this shaker. Instead of the just the normal shaker fillings, I used a set of the Tim Holtz Tiny Lights (Christmas version) and added some colorful circle confetti.
I used a card base of woodgrain paper and backed the tree with some green glitter paper. I left off the sentiment, so that the recipient could use the card as holiday decor. So much fun!
