I’m so happy to be back to crafting with the Waffle Flower January release! There’s so many amazing things in the works at Waffle Flower and this month kicks off all the fun! Today I’ve got a trio of cards all using the new Abstract Shapes die! I love builder sets like these that can be used to create shapes, patterns, and even scenes.
For my first card, I used one of the arch dies to create a heart pattern in a rainbow of colors. To achieve this look, I made sure that the pieces were woven together with the ends going over and under. The sentiment is from the Love Subsentiments Die Cut pack.
This next card also uses the new Abstract Shapes die but this time I created a sunset scene. I die cut the wavy strip die 4 times and then blended ink over each one in increasingly darker blue. For the background, I die cut an A2 panel with the new Quilting Texture die. The used the arch die in the Abstract Shapes set to create a window in the panel. The sentiment (from the Hello Friend set) and the ink-blended sun fits so well in the aperture.
The last step was to add the “waves” by layering each wavy strip. Each wavy strip is layered over and under the strip above it which gives the card a sense of movement. Such a fun card to make!
For my last card today, I used a variety of circle, half circle, and quarter circle dies to create a modern bird. This one came from just playing with the different die cut shapes and layering them in rainbow colors. Behind the bird, I used the new Quilting Texture die again and a little arched panel (using the Nesting Portrait Arches dies).
That’s it for me today but there’s so much more in this month’s release including lots more Postage Collage dies and stencils in new sizes (yay!!!) and some awesome winter-themed stamps, dies, and printed sentiments. Click over to the Waffle Flower site to see it all!
