These past couple weeks have been a blur for me and I have some catching up to do with the Papertrey Ink December 2022 Release! Today we’re highlighting a bunch of new goodies including the Lots of Hugs stamp and dies, Happy Hearts stencils, Mercury Glass hot foil plate, Vase Collection 14 stamps and dies, and Inside Greetings: Celebration stamps.

My first two cards today use the Lots of Hugs stamps and dies with the Happy Hearts stencils. The Lots of Hugs set includes a ton of “hugs” sentiments in a variety of styles along with some lovely coordinating sentiments. In the card below, I used one of the large “hugs” stamps with multiple inks to get that gradient effect. For the background, I used the Happy Hearts stencil duo. Instead of two inks, I used one ink (Pure Poppy) and for the other half of the heart, I used Distress Grit Paste Snowfall which is so glittery!

For the focal point, I used all 3 of the new Love to Layer: Hearts dies to create a shaker card. I love the look of the triple frame where you can see all the way down to the card front. By using vellum on the largest layer, it doesn’t cover up the background entirely. For the final touch, I added a little coarse glitter to the top of the “hugs” die cut sentiment.

This next card uses the same basic supplies (Lots of Hugs stamps and dies and Happy Hearts stencils) with a different look. This time, I used the stencil on some white glitter cardstock to create a background. Some cardstocks have a coating that make them hard to stencil, but I’ve found that most glitter cardstocks are great for stenciling. The Happy Hearts stencil has a perfect pattern for rainbow colors which you know I love to do.

The sentiment is another of the Lots of Hugs large “hugs” sentiments and this time I added one of the great coordinating sentiments. The final touch was a sprinkling of Rainbow gems, and that was all that it needed!

For my last card today, I’ve got a card with a totally different style. This card features the new Vase 14 Collection stamps and dies with the Mercury Glass hot foil plate and Inside Greetings: Celebration stamps. I went with a more more muted color palette this time with shades of Ocean Tides with the orange of Canyon Clay and Terracotta Tile. I used the Mercury Glass hot foil plate just peeking out around the focal point. The outside frame is the previously-released Cover Plate: Pretty Frame die cut in two different cardstocks (Ocean Tides and Rustic White). The final touch was to add some silver metallic pearls to pull out the silver in the Mercury Glass hot foiled background.

I hope you’re enjoying seeing the December release! If you want to see more, head over to the PTI Blog for more peeks from this week! And get ready for release day tomorrow, Thursday December 29th at 10 pm ET!

Aloha, jj
