Hi all! Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend! I hope you have a bit of time today to take a peek at the new Papertrey Ink July Release! Today is countdown day 1 and I’ve got a couple of cards to share.
Today’s cards are all about the flowers! This first card uses the newest offering in the Into the Blooms line. This month the set features orchids, but it also includes some beautiful pots for them too. For my orchids, I used my small blending brushes to add color to my die cuts. Then I used a Copic marker to add the spot detail.
For the background, I used the largest of the new Love to Layer: Ovals dies over a stenciled background using the new Dotted Hexagon stencils. It’s hard to tell in this picture, but I used rose gold paste on the stencil and the slightly shiny, textured pattern is so neat! Love the elegance of these orchids!
This next card also features flowers, but a more wildflower variety! This card uses the new Sprigs & Sprays: Fall stamps and dies with the new Vase Collection 11 stamps and dies. The vintage look of the vase works so well with the natural looking flowers. For the background, I used the Love to Layer: Ovals dies again. Time time I used the two biggest dies in the set together to create a frame. This works especially well when the frame die has a decorative edge. For the background, I used the new Weathered Tile stencils. I love how all the elements have an Italian country feel.
