Hello all! Thanks for stopping by this week for the Countdown to the Papertrey Ink October release! I’ve had lots of fun with the new release and I hope that you’ve had fun seeing the peeks! Today is Countdown Day 4 and the last day before the release tomorrow, October 20th at 10 pm EST.

This morning, I’m sharing a card using the beautiful new Winter Globes dies! I love the scale of this set and love that there are 2 coordinating die sets, Believe and Let It Snow, that allow you to create a variety of looks. For my card, I started with a blended sunrise background and layered over the snowglobe elements in black and white. For the sentiment, I used a die from the previously-released Vintage Travel die to create a little plaque for my snowglobe. The sentiment is from the new Winter Globes Sentiments set.

For the background, I used the new Cornered: Snowflakes dies to make a white on white panel. This is a good way to give your backgrounds that extra touch without it getting too busy. Aren’t the Cornered: Snowflakes dies so lovely? I love the final CAS look of this card!

My next card is also CAS, but with more of a rustic feel. I usually do lots of layers and embellishments, but there’s nothing more satisfying than doing an (almost) one layer clean and simple card. This CAS card uses the new Wonderful Wreaths card on a dark Smokey Shadow background. To stamp with colored ink on a dark background, I used the white ink technique. This involves first stamping with white ink (usually 2-3 times) and then stamping with colored inks. This technique is super easy to do if you have a stamp positioner like a Misti. The final touches to the card was just a bit of spray mist and blended ink around the corners. The sentiment is from the new Larger Than Life: Believe Sentiments set.

Now that you’ve seen the entire release, what’s catching your eye? Don’t forget to visit the PTI Blog for more peeks from Countdown Day 4 and don’t miss the release tomorrow, October 20th at 10 pm EST!

Aloha, jj
