Have you all had a chance to check out the Papertrey Ink October 2023 Release? If you haven’t had a chance yet, I encourage you to check out the release and the blog for lots of crafty inspiration! I’ve already shared some of cards from this release, but I have one more to share which is probably my favorite from the month!
This card uses the new Psalm Reflections October stamp and dies. I absolutely love all the stamps and dies in this series and this month’s psalm is just beautiful. I really wanted to let the psalm stamp shine, so I decided to build a tone-on-tone background. I wanted to go with the tree/forest theme and I remembered some tree stamps in the previously-released Scene Everywhere Winter set. There are two sets of trees in this set and I alternately stamped them 4 times to get this ombre effect. I started with the very lightest at the top using light shades of green and blue (Spring Moss, Aqua Mist, Mint Julep, Vintage Jadeite). For the second row, I used the same as the first and then added Ocean Tides. For third row, I used the same as the previous rows and added Pinefeather. And for the last row, I used Ocean Tides and Pinefeather. I suggest using a stamp platform like a Misti to do this technique. Just keep adding ink until you get the color you want. After stamping the scene, I die cut it all with the largest die in the Love to Layer: Ovals die set.
For the background, I used the Psalm Reflections October dies. I used the two corner dies to completely frame my focal point. I wanted to add detail but not make it too fussy, so I used the same cardstock as the card front (Rustic White). The final touch was to add a few rainstones. Such a joy to make this card!
Do you have a favorite from the release? I hope you check it out!
