Today is countdown Day 2 of the Papertrey Ink September release and I’ve got a couple more goodies to share with you today!
This card uses the new Merry Berry Wreath and Love to Layers: Squares dies! Fall has always been one of my favorite seasons and I love the warm palette of the season. So I used the Merry Berry Wreath stamp as an autumn wreath with deep orange. This set is so easy to use with just two stamps for the wreath. I used the rock and roll stamping technique to get some color variation on the berries. If you’re not familiar with the “rock and roll” technique name, it’s just using multiple inks on your your stamps and using the ink in selective areas. Traditionally you ink up your stamp in one color and then roll just the edges in another darker color, then stamp. I use my Misti to do this, so I bring my ink pads and “rock and roll” them onto the stamp to get that lovely gradient look.
To highlight the wreath, I used the Love to Layer: Squares dies. I used 2 of the 3 layers in this set. I know that this is going to be one of my go-to sets in the future. I love gold for fall cards, so I added gold in one of my square layers and with the card front (using the previously-released Fallen Leaves hot foil plate).
