I don’t know about you, but I cannot resist a classic gingham check. So this month, I’m in heaven with the Waffle Flower March 2024 release! In addition to lots of gingham check-inspired designs there’s actual gingham check and plaid patterned paper! 🥳 And of course, there’s lots of fun products to go with all gingham like the cutest berry dies, stencils, foil plates, and stamps! I’m still having fun with this release, but here’s a couple cards to share using some of new goodies.
My first card uses the new Sweet Lattice Panel die with the coordinating sentiments Sweet Lattice Sentiments stamps. This panel die cuts a full A2-sized panel with a cute lattice design and a built-in label for your sentiment. Speaking of sentiments, the Sweet Lattice Sentiment set has a cute classic mixed font that coordinates well with natural images like flowers, fruits, leaves, etc.
On top of the panel, I added berries and leaves with the new Strawberries Dies set. This layering set has so much detail like veining on the leaves and cut outs for the strawberry seeds. For fun, I die cut my strawberries in some of the new gingham patterned paper! Did I mention that I’m obsessed with that paper? The paper pad has patterns in a variety of small checks, tablecloth checks, and plaids. I backed my gingham strawberries with yellow cardstock to make the seeds pop. Such a fun card to make!
This next card uses the new Multiple Strawberries Die-n-stencil with an older die, the Spring Basket die. This pairing just totally made sense to me and I love how the berries look in that basket. The Multiple Strawberries Die-n-stencil set allows you to make 4 separate die cuts at once and is super easy. I used the stencil to color the strawberries, and, as the last step, used texture paste for the strawberry seeds. The texture paste I used was white but I was able to get yellow seeds by following these steps: tape stencil in place, stencil seeds with texture paste (be sure to remove all paste from stencil), leave stencil in place and allow paste to dry with the stencil still attached, and ink blend yellow Distress Oxide ink over it paste seeds. This technique results in strawberry seeds that look 3D.
I tucked all the stenciled and die cut strawberries into the basket and then layered it over a scalloped panel (used the A2 Lacy Layers dies) and more of that fantastic gingham paper.
Check out the all the rest of the adorable goodies this month at the Waffle Flower site!
