Welcome to the Waffle Flower November 2022 Release Blog Hop! Today we’re taking a little break from all the holiday crafting to celebrate something that is timeless, LOVE! Besides the theme, I’m so excited about this month because there’s lots of designs that speak to my CAS heart. I embrace all kinds of card types, but there’s something about a geometric shape, white space, and pops of color that really make me smile. Let’s get started, shall we?
My first card today uses the classic Ring Panel Die. This full size A2 panel has a fun interlocking ring design that is great for backgrounds. This kind of design is perfect for a “woven” paper look, so I cut up a bunch of rainbow strips and went to weaving. The cuts in this panel make is super easy to create a fun plaid pattern. The final step was to add a diamond label stamped with a sentiment from the previously-released Hello Friend set.
This next card uses the new Oversized Love Print die set. These dies are huge and I am here for it!! I paired it with the Quilted Hearts Texture Die designed by the amazing Galina! Texture dies are perfect for adding that extra something to any card. If I’m feeling “meh” about a card, it usually means I need a little texture or depth. The Quilted Hearts Texture Die has a coordinating stencil which I used with Distress Ink and paste. For the inked parts, I did 2 colors and then I spritzed wit some spray. The stencil makes it so easy. Then I used some shiny paste to add a little extra shine to the smaller hearts. The sentiment is just two layered die cuts and I added a diecut from the Subsentiments Hello Diecut Sheet.
For this next card, I used the same basic dies for a totally different look. This time my Oversized Love Print die cut is rainbow blended and misted. Personally, I like to take a clean panel and blend my inks first and then die cut. That way, the die cut is nice and unwrinkled (hate those bent corners) and I can get the color placement just right. Isn’t that Quilted Hearts Texture Die cut panel cool in black?
This month, there’s another panel die and this one comes with a stencil! The Arches Panel Die and the Arches Panel Coloring Stencil have that awesome curve design we all love and the die and stencil can be used on their own too! For my card, I stenciled a background and used the die to make a shaker card. When I was stenciling, I purposely went for a gradient on my coloring. I love the soft look of gradient blending! For the sentiment, I used a previously-release set, Vertical Sentiments which works perfectly with the panel design.
My last card today uses the same Arches Panel Die on it’s own. I brought back the woven strips and went more for a macrame look. I backed the panel with some subtle glitter paper and added a sentiment from the previously-released Hello Friend set. I had so much fun with this woven look and I’d love to try it with yarn, string, or even felting wool! How fun would that be?
That’s it for me today! I’m so thankful that you stopped by today. I hope you have a wonderful weekend and I hope that you get a chance to check out the rest of the hop! The next stop on the hop is the wonderful Jenn Li !
