It’s Countdown Day 1 of the Papertrey Ink October release and I’m so excited to share the fun goodies from the release! This first card uses the new Sweet Stockings set. I love these types of mix and match sets that allow you to create a variety of looks. For this card, I went “cozy” with warm colors and a vintagey look.

You can’t think Christmas stockings without thinking fireplace, right? I didn’t have a fireplace stamp, so I created a mini fireplace with the previously-released Frame Decor set. This set has a frame that works perfectly as a fireplace mantel! I also added the wreath and candles from the same set to decorate my mantel. The sentiment is from the new Winter Globe Sentiments set (more on that later this week 😉).

This next card uses the same Sweet Stockings set but with a whole different feel! I really love the aqua and bright red combo for the holidays and this set is perfect for this color combo. First I used the new Holiday Berries stencil around the edges of the card. That left a perfect spot in the middle for the stockings. To finish the card, I used the previously-released Skinny Postage Frames Die and the Banner Builder dies for the sentiment. The sentiment is from the new Just Sentiments: Believe set. Love how you can make two really different cards with the same set!

Speaking of using the same supplies to get different looks, this next card uses the Holiday Berries stencil again but in a more traditional way. This time it’s paired with the beautiful new Rustic Wood Star dies! I was going for a super weathered look, so I used a ton of ink blending and layering. For the frame, I first stamped it with previously-released Weathered Wood Background stamp. Then I used the stencil over the stamping and blended more ink around the edges. Then I used the Love to Layer: Ovals die to create a negative cut. Behind it, I stamped another panel just with the Weathered Wood Background stamp and layered it behind the frame.

The Rustic Wood Star dies also includes an amazing layered wreath and other extras. The star itself also has some layering pieces to get a real 3-D look. These dies have embossing details, so I used a combination of different brown inks blended over the star to bring them out and to get an even more realistic wood look. The perfect sentiment is from the Just Sentiments: Believe set.
