Welcome to the Waffle Flower October 2022 Release Blog Hop! So glad that you stopped by! This hop is huge and I know you’re going to see lots of fun inspiration along the way! Today, you’ll notice that I’ve got something a little different for you. No cards, but I’m hoping something just as fun, swatching and organization!
Most of you know that I love craftroom organization almost as much as I love papercrafting! As a little girl in Hawaii, I caught the stationery bug early with my Hello Kitty pencil cases and Japanese stationery. I’ve got a lot more goodies to work with now 😆 but I still enjoy collecting and organizing my craft stash! So this month, I’m so excited about the Ink Pad Swatching bundle and the Supply Swatching bundle! With these two sets, you can swatch almost any craft media in your stash! As you can see from this picture, I’ve been in swatch heaven for the last month!
What makes these new supplies so versatile and easy to use are the combination of stamps, dies, and stencils! The Ink Pad Swatching bundle includes stamps that include a variety of stamp pad shapes (with matching solid stamps) and lots of label stamps to add almost any type of information you need! You can either use the stamp to swatch or use the matching stencil to blend your swatch like I did below.
This month, we also looked beyond just ink swatching with the Supply Swatching bundle! This set also includes a stamp set, dies, and stencil. This set can be used to swatch watercolors, paints, gels/pastes, drops, inks (like alcohol inks), embossing powders, and cardstock! Here’s a look at my watercolor tube swatches. I stamped the paint tube image on watercolor paper, die cut the tube, and then attached it to my swatch tag. This method is great for swatching on specialized paper.
This next ring shows my alcohol ink swatches. This time I actually die cut swatch tags in photo paper and stamped the image with Stazon Ink. The alcohol ink actually stayed within the lines.
This next picture shows my Spray Mist swatch ring. I die cut and stamped the tags with the spray bottle stamp and then used the stencil to swatch the mist.
This next pic shows my embossing powder swatches. You can use the matching stencil to add the embossing ink and then heat emboss your swatch.
The next picture shows my paint swatches. This one is as easy as stamp the tag and paint in the swatch. You could also use the matching stencil to make it easier.
Next up are the gel and paste swatches! The matching stencil makes this swatch super easy to do.
If you have a ton of drop bottles like me, you’ll get a lot of use from the drop bottle swatches. You can either fill in the bottle with the liquid or use the special dot stamp (I did both below).
As you can see from all the pics that we’ve also included lots of label stamps to add information about colors, types, brands, etc. Seriously, the sky’s the limit!
That’s all for me today, but you have to go check out the rest of the hop! The next stop on the hop is fabulous Amy Rysavy!
